I’m working with a client who once turned me down.
She wasn’t ready to work with me then but months later, reached out asking for my help as a career coach.
As someone working as a UI/UX designer in tech, she felt that her job was no longer as stable as it once was. She didn’t enjoy the work and always felt anxious she was next to be laid off.
And when she first came to me, she thought she wanted to go into nursing, because it was:
✅ Very stable
✅ AI proof
✅ Her family always wanted her to do it
✅ And she liked that she could help others
So we dug deeper:
❓ Why did you want to become a nurse?
❓ Would she miss the creative elements that were present in her current job (even though she hated the job)?
❓ What other elements would she miss most from her tech role?
❓Is this career truly what she wants or is she basing her career on what others want of her?
And as we worked through self discovery together, she was able to identify what she actually loved, what she valued in her career, and what she’s good at -
✅ Not be client-facing (she’s an introvert, so nursing is actually a terrible idea!)
✅ A creative element to it (she really loves design)
✅ She loves storytelling and anime
And landed on being an animator as her dream job (a far cry from nursing - which she was so adamant about going into before we started working together!)

As you can tell, career pivots are a journey.
It doesn’t happen overnight.
And notice how I said that “she was able to identify” that she had additional requirements from her future job?
That’s because as a career coach, you will never get any “answers” from me. I’ll be there to guide and ask you questions, but you’re in the driver’s seat.
Only you can decide what is best for you.
I’m just here to hold up a mirror to help you get to your answers.
PS: If you’re looking to explore alternate careers yourself, feel free to DM me PERFECT. I specialise in helping high-achieving people find their perfect-for-them careers and would love to see you succeed!
