I never knew that motherhood would break me.

But it did.

And no, not in a bad way.

Because when I say it “broke” me, I mean it opened my eyes to what truly mattered.

It made me realise many things about life and careers:

1️⃣ Design your dream career, don’t accept the status quo

I hate being told what to do.

Including what a work/life balance should look like for a working mum.

But that starts with understanding my priorities.

Now that I have a daughter who means the world to me… My current priority lies in designing a career that fits me AND my family.

I wouldn’t miss the little moments with my child for anything.

And I also wouldn’t want to let go of my business.

While it’s just impossible for us women to have it all, that doesn’t mean I can’t figure out a balance that works for ME.

That being said…

2️⃣ I can’t do things solo

To build a thriving, sustainable business, I need help.

I need my husband.

Lactation consultant. My doula. My confinement nanny. My sister. My friends.

Aka my personal board of advisors.

Let's face it, I'm no supermom.

I've had my fair share of "what do I do now?" moments (and trust me – there were plenty).

For me to figure things out, I need to lean on my board of advisors to find the right advice.

All so that I can be a better mum for my baby.

And finally…

3️⃣ Our priorities shift as we enter new phases in our lives – so should we

if the job you had in your 20s doesn’t seem to fit what you have in your 30s and 40s… don’t freak out.

We should fit our job around our lives; not the other way around.

So let go of your fear and embrace the only constant in your life: Change.

And if you need help figuring out how to navigate through all the new things in your life, send me a message “CHANGE”. It’s time to build a career that is perfect for you!

I’d hate to go through what I did (and am going through) alone…

So let me be there for you.
