I grew up ticking all the right boxes - I got good grades, went to an Ivy League, and got a job at a prestigious financial institution.

I made my parents happy and achieved what society deemed successful.

But deep down I always felt that something was missing.

And so I would try different things - I’d aim for a promotion, a pay raise, a change in job scope, in location. And while these things helped in the short term, I couldn't quite shake that deep hollow feeling.

Looking back, I probably knew early on that this was not the right career for me, but I stayed, for 7 YEARS.

I thought this was what growing up meant. I felt irresponsible giving up a nice cushy job to “pursue my dreams”, especially when I didn’t even know what my dream really was. I was worried about not making money, failing and what my family would think.

But I did eventually find the courage to leave and now work at a fashion startup where it is much more aligned with the person I am.

This is why I started my podcast #CtrlAltCareer, to share stories of people who have successfully taken the leap. To show that if they can do it, so can you.

I’m also taking it one step further and launching a 1:1 CAREER COACHING PROGRAM! So if you feel anything like how I felt, send me a msg, I’d love to chat!
