How many of us hide behind excuses?

Excuses that end up costing us a really happy and content career?

Let me tell you a story.

When my client (let’s call her Mira) was still in her previous job, she knew that this wasn’t the perfect job for her and she did not want to settle.

So she worked her ass off looking for a career perfect for her.

Her colleague (let’s call her June) felt the same way.

June too was unhappy and wanted out.

But June wasn’t as active as Mira.

She spent all day overthinking, complaining, making excuses and feeling sorry for herself.

Mira actively applied to jobs, set up hundreds of coffee chats to expand her network and even worked with me to find her perfect job fast.

While June would passively follow self-help Instagram accounts, hypothesize about different career paths in her own head, and browse job openings without ever applying.

When Mira told June about me and my services, June was supportive but doubtful.

June questioned Mira:
🤔 “You sure you wanna pay such an amount just for a better career?”
🤔 “This is something you can find out for free right?
🤔 “I know what I want, I just need to get up and go for it.”

Mira heard June but paid her no need.

Mira had to work a lot on her limiting beliefs and self-discovery, but she was at least SURE of what her issues were and we came up with a strategy to get her out.

After three months of hard work, Mira landed her dream job.

June, on the other hand, within those three months, had done little else except scroll through job postings passively and think herself into circles.

Now, a year since Mira was offered her perfect-for-her career, June’s still stuck in the same job -
🗯️ Complaining about company culture
🗯️ Stuck in the same rank with a measly salary increment
🗯️ Had not delivered on any unique or new projects in addition to her standard work
