I’ve been blessed to attract the best clients to me; many of whom have since become close friends!
Here are my 5 secrets to finding the perfect clients:
1️⃣ I focused on building a personal brand
Several years ago, I was terrified of putting myself out there.
I suffered from imposter syndrome and battled the question of why anyone would listen to me, of all people.
Furthermore, everything I put out felt cringy and obvious.
What I didn’t realise then was that I was in the early stage of building my personal brand. And all those feelings that I was going through were true but also completely untrue because there were people who found my content beneficial.
And also felt close to me because the content was told in my voice, from my personal perspective.
2️⃣ I am very vulnerable
Most people like to hide the less glamorous/positive things about their lives, but I made a decision early on in my journey to be open and vulnerable.
I’ve shared about how terrible I was at BlackRock (even though it’s a brand name that everyone is so impressed with), as well as my failures with launching a VC-backed startup and personal fashion line.
This vulnerability is something I still struggle with but I continue to do so online because I know that I’m not the only one going through these struggles.
And I don't want people to feel alone and think that I’ve got it all figured out!
3️⃣ I have very consistent messaging
I’m very focused on talking only about career pivots, coaching and entrepreneurship.
I won’t be sharing cooking recipes any time soon!
4️⃣ I’m much better at saying no
I used to be scared of crashing my business and said yes to any little opportunity that came my way.
That has changed.
I’m very picky with who I work with and it’s reaped huge dividends because coaching is a two-way street.
We need to be a good fit for each other!
5️⃣ I repeat myself
It’s not annoying to always repeat the same messages.
Nike has trumpeted its “JUST DO IT” motto in 5,000 different formats, as do other large MNCs and prominent personalities.
Their “brand” is clear and they’re always reinforcing their message.
So I do the same.
I don’t let the fear of cringe hold me back.
Because the only one who is going to suffer is me.

Make 2024 the year that you overcome The Cringe.
Be open about what you want and are interested in, and start sharing it online.
Who knows what doors might open to you later this year?
P/S: If you’re looking to make a pivot in your career and trying to figure out how to rebrand yourself for a career pivot, send me a message “BRAND” I’d love to see how I can help.
