Stalking doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

When done right. 😏

For starters, I’m going to assume that you’re someone who:

✅ Feels stuck in your career
✅ Are afraid to make a move
✅ Don’t know what else you could be doing with your career
✅ Don’t know how to even start figuring out the answer to point 3

If the above points resonate with you, then stalking may be your answer.

And it starts with you making a list of your career “heroes”.

Be open minded.

Include people who are in industries that you know you’d never be in but are nevertheless intrigued by - maybe it’s someone who works as a creative director, an entrepreneur, someone who does ESG, or even a viral TikToker!

Once you have that list, start asking yourself these questions:

❓ What do all these heroes have in common?
❓ Are there any common threads in terms of the jobs/career that they’ve had?
❓ Do they align with your values?
❓ Do they align with your interests?
❓ Do they align with your strengths?

Once you have those answers, you should have a better understanding of who you are, what your interests are and even where your strengths lie.

Armed with that understanding, you can start your stalking.

If you’re drawn to the idea of building your own thing, then do a deep-dive into how your career heroes have built their own thing:

❓ How did they come up with the idea?
❓ What was the first thing that they did?
❓ How did they finance it?
❓ What were some of the test drives that they did to test out their hypothesis?

There is a ton of great information out there and if you put in the time to “stalk”, you’ll find that the answers to your questions are already there.

The blueprint is set.

You just have to copy, adapt and execute.

And always keep an open mind.

You could be taking your first step into a job that is perfect for you.
