My podcast changed my life, even though I’d started it out of desperation!

This was back in 2020 when Singapore went through multiple stringent circuit breaker lockdowns.

Like many, I struggled with it, especially as an extreme extrovert.

Out of desperation and extreme boredom, I thought - I need to channel this energy somewhere

I listen to a ton of podcasts - why not start one myself?

This will give me the perfect excuse to talk to someone during the lockdown.

And since I had always struggled with my own career decisions, and what gave me the courage to take that leap of faith was hearing other’s career stories

So I thought - why not start one on careers

Hopefully, it can inspire other people that it is possible to build a career and define success on your own terms

So I launched Ctrl Alt Career.

Ctrl Alt Career became my “excuse” to approach really interesting and successful people to ask them about the alternative careers that they’d built, e.g.:

❓ Where did their drive come from?

❓ What were the main lessons learned?

❓ What were their metrics of success?

What I hadn’t anticipated was this: My podcast listeners reached out to me for advice.

Asking if I could help them make a pivot in their career.

So I said Yes!

One client became two, then three, and four…

Things started to snowball and soon, I found myself launching my own career coaching business which has now crossed 6-figures in revenue!

I would’ve never thought this possible when I was working at BlackRock.

All I knew was finance. All I knew was making money from a corporate job.

But if I’ve learned one thing from life, it’s that doors are always opening.

And sometimes, you just have to take the step to do something to find the thing you most want in life.

P/S: If you’re looking to make a pivot in your career, feel free to DM me PIVOT. I specialise in helping high-achieving corporate professionals from organisations like UBS, Google and Amazon find their dream careers!
