I had a lot of money once.

Too much, in fact.

Which isn’t surprising, when you’re working as a VP at BlackRock.

For 7 years, I had:

✅ Travelled the world.
✅ Stayed at the best hotels; and
✅ Worked out of BlackRock’s London, New York and Hong Kong offices,

While living off a 6-figure paycheck.

Everyone thought that I was living “my best life”.

They all wanted to be me.

But they also didn’t know the truth: that I was an imposter.

My life was perfect on paper, yes, but I hated my job.

No matter how hard I tried, I could never seem to make it “work”.

So I started a blog.

Partly out of desperation, but also to channel my frustration into something that I actually care about: Fashion.

What I didn’t expect was this - that my fashion blog became the launchpad for me to enter the startup world.

There, I built the Hong Kong business from scratch and scaled its operations and logistics.

Found an inner desire to try building my own fashion label (which didn’t take off, but that’s a story for another day!).

And tried to launch my own VC-backed startup.

When that didn’t work too, I decided to try my hand at career coaching.

I had been running my podcast Ctrl Alt Career and generated a number of clients who resonated with the content and wanted personalised guidance in pivoting out of their existing corporate careers into one that they actually loved.

One after the other, those clients found themselves in their perfect-for-them careers.

And even more people from the likes of Google, Accenture, DBS and even BlackRock came knocking.

It soon became clear that I was making an impact.

What I had to offer was of real value, and people needed my help.

More than that, I loved what I was doing.

And so while it’s unconventional for a former VP BlackRock to have ended up as a career coach, I have no regrets.

This is where I’m meant to be.

I’ve found my perfect-for-me career after 10+ years and I’d love to help you too if you’re looking for that extra spark in your career.

The journey will be long, and it will be hard.

But I promise you, there is light.

You just need to take one step forward.

So are you ready?
