Donโ€™t think itโ€™s possible to switch careers without starting all over again?

๐Ÿค” We often think we need to start from the bottom again

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“ Or think we need to go back to school

But thatโ€™s because we donโ€™t know how to sell ourselves

And package our existing experiences into the new role

Going to school is just a lazy way of paying to borrow credibility

And paying for your resume to show you have relevant experience

โ“ Donโ€™t know how else you can borrow credibility?

Here are ๐Ÿฐ ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐˜€ for you to switch careers without having to start all over again -

(1) Identify your transferable skills (and donโ€™t discount those soft skills!)

- Think about the skills you've acquired throughout your career so far
- And bring them back to the building blocks

(2) Learn how to sell yourself

- Instead of talking about your skills in the terms of your existing industry
- Change the narrative and showcase the underlying skill set and how it can be applied to the new role

(3) Build a portfolio

- The best way to show youโ€™ve got what it takes for the job?
- Show them you can do the job via your portfolio

(4) Find mentors

- The most powerful way to pivot in your career is to
- Borrow the credibility of people who are ALREADY in the industry
- Who can vouch for you and speak on your behalf

Remember change does NOT mean starting all over.
