Are you a career coach?

If you are, read on.

Because I’m currently hiring career coaches to help me with my business!

Setting aside past experience and skills, here are 2 key traits I’m looking for:

1️⃣ An almost childlike belief in people

A lot of career coaches are KPI-driven: They get a client and prioritise landing them in a job (any job!)

And the easiest way to help them land a job? Only apply to jobs in a similar industry/role

There isn’t any personal care or deep-dive to determine whether that new job is even what the client truly wants.

That is not what I do with my client.

My success metric is not just helping my clients find a job

But helping them get a job that’s truly perfect for them.

And if you’re wondering whether that requirement makes the whole process harder and longer, then yes.

It does.

But it's non-negotiable.

We’re talking about another person’s career.

It’s important to ensure that they’re pivoting into something that aligns with what they want not just at work but also in life.

I’ve seen many people’s confidences and identities destroyed because of the wrong job (myself included!)

And so many light up when they do find that “perfect for you” job.

I feel the same now with my coaching business (a stark difference to the misery I felt while working at BlackRock for 7 years!).

Since I know what it’s like to do what I love, how can I provide my clients with anything less?

I expect the same from you too.

2️⃣ Optimism

I’m a glass-half-full kind of girl, and I expect you to be too.

The job pivoting journey is long and brutal and you’re going to be my client’s biggest cheerleaders.

When a job application fails, when they test drive a new career but it crashes and all those moments in between where doubt and fear crowds in… you’ll be there.

Reminding them that it’s ok.

That this is the way forward.

And all those moments of failures are progress, even if it doesn’t feel that way.

Because so much of the path to success is having someone believe in you and someone cheering you on.

*

So if you have those two traits and have experience in the career coaching business, feel free to reach out!

I’d love to have a chat to see if there’s any alignment between us. 😊

P/S: I’ll also be providing training to everyone who works for me as a career coach to ensure that you’re aligned on my proprietary STAR framework and are providing the same level of coaching that all my clients are currently receiving.
