For 7 years, I had all that and more at BlackRock.
There was just one problem: I was miserable.
I knew, despite all the perks of the finance industry, it was just not for me.
But even if I knew I wanted to leave, I had no idea where to go.
A lot of my family members were classic high-achiever Asians: doctors, lawyers, or finance executives.
They were all great and held prestigious jobs but I honestly had zero interest in any of their industries.
But I thought I could only pick within those industries
Because I was very limited by my knowledge of what kind of jobs there were out there.
I didn’t know about content creators, fashion startups, and coaching businesses until I spent more time on LinkedIn where:

💡 I connected with a lot of people with alternative careers
💡 I met and befriended with so many people beyond the finance world
It was so refreshing as if I was seeing the world differently
And that’s when I realised that when you have so many limiting beliefs, like

💭❌ My dream job will never accept me unless I have prior experience
