😱 Today marks one year since I left my dream job

1 year since I left behind a steady paycheck

1 year since I stopped being a General Manager at a fashion startup

A job I truly loved and never thought I’d ever be lucky enough to find

A job where I never had the Sunday blues

A job that helped me grow into the type of person I used to admire and never thought I’d ever become

❓ Why?

🌟 Because my values changed and I had outgrown the role

So many of us end up overstaying at our jobs

Because we don’t realize how much we can change over time

While this job was perfect for me in so many ways 3 years ago

What I was seeking and what I value today is no longer what I sought and valued then

When I left my dream job

⚡ I wanted to prove to myself that I can build a business from scratch

⏰ But more importantly, I wanted to help more people get into a job they wake up excited for

🗣️ I wanted to spread the message that you don’t need to settle for a job

That there is a job out there that is perfect for you

And I realized I wouldn’t be able to prove to myself my abilities and to be able to help in the way I wanted to help if I continued to stay at the fashion startup

And while it was not an easy decision

I knew it was the right decision

👩‍🚀 And so what I want to remind you today is that

👍 It’s ok to outgrow what used to be your dream job

It doesn’t mean you’ve failed

🆙 It just means you’ve levelled up

So if this sounds like you, I want you to take a look at your values today

Identify what you’re looking for in your career today

And compare it against what the job offers you

If you don’t find many overlaps, it likely means you’ve outgrown your current job

And it’s probably time to move on
