πŸ† In the early days of my career, I definitely optimized my career for higher pay and status.

πŸ’Έ Until I realized that the end goal for many people with corporate jobs was to save up enough money.

With that money, they wanted have the freedom to:

🎯 Be in control of their own time
🎯 Do what they really wanted to do
🎯 Travel wherever, whenever
🎯 Write a novel
🎯 Start their own business

Then I realized that happiness and success for me was having the 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 π˜π—Ό π—°π—΅π—Όπ—Όπ˜€π—² how I wanted to spend my time.

When I left finance, I was no longer sitting there, collecting a paycheck monthly and living for the weekends.

βœ‚οΈ Instead, I took a pay cut at my new job in a fashion startup β€” but I also felt a renewed sense of purpose going into the office every single day.

πŸ’‘ I had learned that life was too short for me to wait until retirement before I was in control of my own time again.

Are you optimizing your career for pay and prestige, or freedom?
