Everyone makes mistakes, but not all mistakes are created equal.

One of my biggest mistakes was working at BlackRock for 7 years, and leaving only after I was made VP.

It’s very prestigious, yes.

People are still impressed with me today.

But I also remember my deep-seated frustration and depression as I was writing about our investment view on Asian equities and our fund performance.

That BlackRock job just wasn’t for me but for a very long time, I managed to convince myself that it was not a mistake to stay on.

How could it, when this career was so perfect on paper?

Eventually, I found the courage to take the Big Leap.

I worked at a fashion startup where I helped to launch their Hong Kong office.

Then I decided to become an entrepreneur myself.

The reason for that is simple.

I remember how stuck and frustrated I was at BlackRock, and I knew many others going through the exact same thing. I was convinced I could heal those people & hopefully, lessen the “mistakes” they were making in their careers!

It’s never too late to start anew.

You can build a career that rewards you in every way.

This month has been terrifying for me because, for the first time, I went on a proper holiday.
