Last December 22, I turned 33!
It’s crazy to think that I used to be terrified of entering my 30s.
It used to sound so old.
Back then, I had a clear vision of what the roadmap of my life would look like, i.e.:
✅ Build the perfect career at BlackRock;
✅ Have my first kid by age 28;
✅ Have a second kid by age 30; and
✅ Become the MD of a bank by age 33.
Suffice it to say that none of those things happened. 😅
It took me a very long time to be okay with that (the Type A in me loves and needs plans!).
Instead, I:
🌟 Left BlackRock after 7 years
🌟 Gave up on building a glamorous VC-backed startup to work on my own small business as a career coach; and
🌟 Am having my first child at the “not so tender” age of 33
And you know what?
I won’t have it any other way.
As it turns out, plans are not meant to be followed.
Dreams do come true.
And most importantly - being in my 30s doesn’t make me “old”!
Instead, my 30s feel like the period where I’m coming into my own - these are the best years of my life!
I’m more confident than ever before, secure in who I am and the value I bring to the world and most important of all, content.
Content that this was all meant to be.
Content to live my “best life” according to my strengths, values and priorities.
Content to be a mother at age 33.

Everyone has a different journey. We aren’t all cut out from the same mould.
And that’s the beauty of this one life that we get on earth.
We know who we are deep down and stay true to what makes us, us.
And you’ll know when you’re being true because of that inner peace that you’ll have.
A peace that I only found in my 30s.
So here’s to my 33rd year on this earth!
I can’t wait to see what the next few years will bring.
