Have you ever met someone who discovered the job they love?

I have 🤩.

All the time.

And that privilege comes from my job as a career coach - where I help people find their dream job.

Let me tell you the story of one such client.

She has always loved writing & storytelling but ended up in public healthcare for years because she thought it was the “noble and prestigious” thing to do.

She had:

🔥 Fantastic colleagues

🔥 Great career prospects; and

🔥 Was transforming the lives of people in real time!

And yet… she needed more.

She thought she could figure it out on her own but years passed & she remained stuck, which is how we started working together.

Initially, she thought wanted to work in tech. It’s a sexy and reputable industry after all.

But we first addressed what she truly valued, which were:

🔥 Promoting diversity and inclusion

🔥 Working on something she was passionate about

🔥 Being able to use her natural skills in writing and hone her strengths > working on building skills in event planning that she wasn't that interested in

Once we had identified her values, her strengths and aligned them with her existing portfolio of work, we found the perfect role for her to work towards.

It wasn’t:

🚫 Apply for XYZ in a big tech company because it’s cool & well paid

🚫 Find another HR role because she already had prior experience

🚫 Continue sucking it up in healthcare for the next 5 years before quitting

Instead, we came up with a game plan.

A plan that was catered specifically to her values and her aspirations.

And in < 4 months, got her to exactly where she wanted.

Her dream role in the media industry!

So happy for you, Izza! ❤️
