Great people don’t quit jobs. They quit:

1. A dead end role
Where they don’t feel like they’re growing in skill and knowledge, and their bosses don’t care about how their career progression goes.

2. A low paying role
Money doesn’t solve everything, but it solves many things.
There’s nothing worse than knowing that you’re being paid below market rate while expected to work overtime, covering work that is meant for 2 people!

3. A terrible boss
Especially the ones who expect to have their egos stroked, didn’t obtain their position through personal achievements, and don’t care about the wellbeing of their direct reports.

4. A toxic environment
We all spend more with our colleagues than with their own family.
So if you end up in an environment that is toxic, with colleagues that are always trying to one-up you, hen your entire life feels miserable!

5. Misaligned values
If you prioritise giving back to society but work in a company that prioritises making more money for your already absurdly rich clients, then it feels like a betrayal (to yourself).
Life's too short to compromise on your values.

6. Being a cog in the wheel
Great people want to make a difference. If they feel that they aren’t contributing to meaningful outcomes, then they’re likely to leave.

7. Lack of career upside
Whether it’s stagnant learning, lack of career progression, or maybe just lack of growth in the industry. If employees don’t see a future, they won’t stick around.

8. No work-life balance
Burnout is real and never worth it. It’s better to leave than to stick around for 1 more month.

9. Unfulfilling work
If the work is dull, lacks purpose and doesn’t give you any fulfilment… then why would anyone stick around?

10. Micro-management
No one likes being treated as a child, especially at work!
